Llano County Jail Release Paths
Llano County Jail is the primary local booking and physical-release record holder. Someone can leave after posting bond, receiving a personal-bond or other court order, completing a county sentence, receiving time-served credit, or after a dismissal once all holds have cleared. The jail can also hand the person to another custodian. In that case, the person has left Llano County Jail without leaving confinement.
The release event should identify the time, manner, and destination. “TDCJ,” “transfer,” “USMS,” “ICE,” or another agency name changes the next step. A TDCJ transfer leads to the state offender-information system. A U.S. Marshals or federal transfer may lead to federal court records and, after sentencing, the BOP locator. An ICE transfer leads to the ICE locator. When the record shows community release, pair the Sheriff event with the latest court order to understand the authority and any continuing court supervision.
| Jail exit | Where to verify next |
|---|---|
| Bond, dismissal, or court order | Sheriff release sheet and correct Llano court file |
| County sentence completed | Judgment, jail credit, and actual release timestamp |
| TDCJ transfer | TDCJ inmate search and offender-information channels |
| Another county | Named receiving sheriff or jail |
| USMS, BOP, or ICE | Federal or immigration system named in the record |
Confirm Llano County Jail Release
No official online Llano County jail roster, inmate search, release archive, or recent-release list was verified during the August 2026 research. There is no official web cadence or retention period to cite. This means confirmation begins with an existing-record request, not an unsupported claim that a public page updates in real time.
- Identify the person by full name and a date of birth or another suitable identifier.
- Add the approximate booking dates and the booking or case number if known.
- Request the booking and release sheet or equivalent record.
- Ask for actual release date and time, release code, and destination or receiving agency.
- Request the key for any abbreviation rather than assigning a meaning.
- Compare the result with the latest signed court order or judgment.
The Llano County released inmate search guide explains the full custody decision. For this facility, the Sheriff transaction remains the anchor. Court action can authorize release, but it cannot prove the time at which the jail cleared paperwork, resolved holds, and processed the exit. Conversely, a name disappearing from any current display does not reveal whether the person bonded out or was transferred.
Llano County Jail Record Request
Llano County uses a centralized public-information process. Do not send a formal request to an employee’s private email. Use the county Public Information page and its PDF form. Email the completed request to publicinformationrequest@co.llano.tx.us, fax it to 325-247-7732, or mail it to Public Information Records Request, 801 Ford Street, Llano, TX 78643.
A precise description could ask for “the booking and release sheet or equivalent record showing booking number, booking date and time, charges, bond entries, actual release date and time, release disposition or code, and destination or receiving agency.” Ask for a releasable booking photograph separately if it matters to the inquiry. Disclosure depends on current law, exceptions, and orders, so a photo should not be promised.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 requires prompt treatment of public-information requests but does not promise that every response arrives within ten business days. The well-known ten-day provision concerns an agency seeking an Attorney General decision, not a fixed delivery deadline. A cost estimate, a need to narrow the request, or legal review can change timing. Request electronic delivery and answer clarification promptly.

Call non-emergency dispatch for current custody procedures, the place where releases are processed, or practical pickup questions. Do not use 911 for a record or release inquiry. Record the date, time, and name of the person who gives a phone answer. When the exact exit time or destination matters, follow that call with the written release record.
Llano Jail Court Record Match
The Sheriff record proves the processed exit or handoff. The court file explains the legal authority. Llano’s constitutional County Court and the 33rd and 424th Judicial District Courts mean that searching only one clerk can miss the controlling case. The Llano County Clerk began directing users to re:SearchTX on July 28, 2025. Felony matters remain a District Clerk path.
At re:SearchTX, search the exact name and case number where possible. Review the bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, jail-time credit, probation order, revocation, and later filings. Some documents may require purchase, and online coverage can vary. Contact the County Clerk for applicable county-level records and the District Clerk for district matters. A clerk can provide copies from specific information but need not perform or guarantee a broad search.
A bond entry is not a completed jail release. A dismissal can coexist with another hold. An order may precede processing by hours or longer. The release timestamp and destination resolve that gap, which is why the two records should be read together.
Llano Jail Transfers to TDCJ
A sentenced person delivered to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice has left the county jail but remains in custody. Search the TDCJ inmate information page by TDCJ number or state identification number when available. A name search can also use first and last name, gender, and race. Compare conviction county and sentence details so that a similar name is not mistaken for the correct person.
TDCJ says the online page is updated on working days and is at least 24 hours old. It focuses on people currently incarcerated in a TDCJ unit and is not a complete public archive of former state inmates. If a known former inmate is absent, use TDCJ’s official email or telephone offender-information channels and the court judgment. Keep each date label intact. A projected release date, parole eligibility date, favorable vote, discharge date, and actual release date are not synonyms.
If TDCJ later releases the person on parole or mandatory supervision, the Georgetown District Parole Office is the official county mapping, subject to directory verification. Court probation is different and routes to Llano Adult Probation. Neither office substitutes for the Sheriff’s earlier county-jail release event.
Llano Jail Federal Transfers
No BOP prison or dedicated ICE detention center was verified within Llano County. Those systems become relevant only if the jail event or case names a federal or immigration route. The U.S. Marshals Service generally coordinates federal pretrial prisoners. After a federal sentence, the BOP locator is the more useful public path and can show a release date and a “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” result.
An end to BOP custody does not rule out another custodian or federal supervised release. ICE’s locator covers current detainees and, under ICE guidance, a narrow recently released population. A no-result proves neither community release nor removal. Follow the named agency and use PACER when a federal court disposition is needed.
Llano Jail Release Timing
The official Sheriff page does not publish release desk hours, a public exit point, weekend or holiday timing, a waiting-area rule, or a property-return procedure. Avoid promising a pickup time based on a court event. Other holds, document checks, transport plans, and staff processing can change an expected release.
Non-emergency dispatch can provide the current local procedure. The later transaction should still be requested for a firm timestamp. This distinction helps families and other permitted users separate an expected release from one that has actually been completed.
About Llano County Jail
Llano County Jail is a county jail operated by the Llano County Sheriff’s Office. It is the central local facility for county bookings and release transactions. The research did not establish a separate long-term municipal jail, TDCJ unit, federal prison, or dedicated immigration detention center in Llano County that warrants another local facility page.
City police may make arrests or briefly hold someone, but once the person is booked into Llano County Jail, the Sheriff and the relevant court become the useful record custodians. State and federal databases do not cover an ordinary local bond release merely because the arrest happened in Texas. Start with the facility that actually held the person, then follow a documented transfer.
